Vincent Who?

Happy Father’s Day to all of the dads out there!  I was talking with my dad earlier about how so many “things have changed” since he was growing up.  He meant technology, pop culture, food, etc. but then I thought about how things have changed in terms of racism in America.  There certainly have been triumphs, but I thought that it was also appropriate to remember, especially for APA’s, where we have come so far from.

This weekend marks the 29th anniversary of the murder of Vincent Chin, the victim of the 1982 hate crime that has been considered the start of the pan-Asian activist movement.  The documentary will be online for free at http://vincentwhomovie.com/

Let’s celebrate today the fathers we have, and remember a man who could have been a father if vicious racism hadn’t taken him.
